Urho was a forest worker, who is describe in the song based on my memories from over 50 years ago. I was about 10 years old at the time, so part of the story is based on my parents’ stories from that time.

Urho was born sometime in the late 1920s (estimated 1927-1931) and lived in Maivala, Juva, in the 1960s (possibly his entire life), probably with his mother.

I have no certain information about Urho’s activities before or after the 1960s, other than that he died some time ago.

In the 1960s, Urho did forest work for the Pohjola company

for which the composer’s father was the regional forester at the time. The work was do over a wide area, for example in the Mikkeli, Juva and Kangasniemi areas.

I myself remember visiting the forest overseas data cabins in Padasjoki and Joutsa, where Urho and other forest workers were accommodated while working.

Urho was a hardworking and skilled forest worker who did his job in an exemplary manner. In return, Urho often “drank” the money he earned in his free time, drove around in a taxi and generously served others in pubs. Otherwise,

Urho was a polite and humble man, and did not cause any trouble, whether he was sober or on the edge.

Urho was also a good storyteller and his stories made listeners laugh

The lyrics of the song are as truthful as I remember. For example, Urho’s mother’s words “I won’t drive you calmly” are Urho’s own account of the situation in question.

There is also one “fact error” in the lyrics, meaning that Urho was not his mother’s only child, according to what I have learned now, if you obtain stuck or have questions at any but he also had a brother (a truck driver?).

There could have been a story about Urho for a couple of songs: For example, I remember a story when we were having lunch in the kitchen on a Sunday around noon in the mid-1960s. Urho suddenly stepped into the doorway.

When my father asked, surprised, “What’s up, Urho?” Urho told me that he had walked to us from Mikkeli and asked, his voice trembling, if he could the song based get a “kotti” (a bag of wine) since he had spent all his money in Mikkeli the night before.

The man had walked more than 30 km

To in the early hours of the morning and was not wearing any sneakers, but the “leather patinas” of his time. The hangover and the rumbling stomach didn’t give him much energy for the trip either. So we were given “kotti” (a bag of wine) and food and Urho took the bus home.

In 2002, the third Puustock was in the works. Kontrahilsi built a new mixing shed. On Friday, an event was held at the Camping, b2c fax as well as a club night at Hotel Juva. The main performer at the Saturday event was Sleepparit, model 74.

A new access road was put into use. The main gate was move from the end of the Hotel to the place where the roads from Juva Camping and Juvan ABC meet. The parking areas had already been move the previous year near ABC, where a roundabout and fields were in use.

The areas were large, there was enough space

Access to the area became easier, and there was no longer a need to guard the crossings of Highway 14, as it became completely quiet. The area otherwise remained the same.

The event began to receive national publicity. Puustock was at least satisfactorily notice. The arrangements work excellently and the schedules were kept to the minute. Something that became a habit at every Puustock. New faces include, the song base among others: Home industry,

Popeda and Klamydia. The audience grew again. Now it was 4000. Puustock sunglasses were make in the Krääsä area. T-shirts were discontinue for a few years.
